The Weird One Returns in 2026!

"Weird Al" Yankovic's career began in a truly serendipitous fashion.  When he was a 16-year-old high school student, Dr. Demento — who hosted a syndicated radio show specializing in novelty and comedy songs — spoke at his high school, which gave the budding parodist a chance to give the radio personality a homemade demo tape recorded at home on a portable tape recorder.  Dr. Demento was soon playing "Belvedere Cruisin'" over the airwaves, which helped launch the young Yankovic's career.  A few years later, Yankovic was playing "Another One Rides the Bus" live on Dr. Demento's show, and touring with his short-lived live variety show, where he was discovered by a talent scout who encouraged him to assemble a band and go pro.  "I Love Rocky Road" became his first Top 40 radio hit, which led to a self-titled album... and the rest is history, as they say.  He's gone on to release another 13 studio albums, sell more than 12 million albums, perform more than 1,000 live shows, and become a veritable one-man comedy tradition.  Dave Grohl of Nirvana said he knew the band had made it when Yankovic parodied their biggest hit with "Smells Like Nirvana," an opinion that's been shared by countless artists over the last 40 years.

For decades, Weird Al Yankovic has been bringing his uniquely anarchic sense of humor to the American pop-music landscape.  From Michael Jackson and Nirvana to T.I. and Lady Gaga, "Weird Al" has parodied just about every famous pop artist of the era, and it's won him generations of fans in the process.  As if that wasn't enough, he also puts on one heck of a live show — and he's bringing it to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 18th, 2026!
