Formed in Long Beach, CA in 1988 by friends Bradley Nowell, Eric Wilson, and Bud Gaugh, Sublime became one of the most influential ska/punk bands of the '90s — but sadly didn't last long enough to truly capitalize on their burgeoning success, as lead singer Nowell died of a heroin overdose two months before the release of their wildly successful self-titled third album.
